Freelance Pricing 2024

Pricing is sometimes a tender subject for any conversation about work to be done, so I like to be very up front about the rates and fees that I charge.

These rates are fairly firm, and reflect the most recent national standards for professional freelance writer compensation.  With that in mind, I do frequently provide product/service bundles when a client needs a few different products and/or services.  Bundling my products and services can save clients quite a bit of expense over buying them individually.  Bundles also help ensure continuity between individual projects, resulting in more consistent messaging for any given client.  If budgeting is a concern, I'm happy to discuss ways to bundle products and services to meet your goals.

Finally, when a client anticipates recurring, intermittent or long-term projects, I will often suggest a retainer arrangement to ensure my availability over time.  This offers the benefits not only of brand continuity and reduced cost, but also more predictable budgeting, guaranteed availability, and priority servicing.

I am happy to discuss any upcoming projects and budget concerns.

Product Packages

Most of my writing is offered in packages.  This is the most cost-effective option for clients because they save money on a per-piece price, and they can set both the budget and the schedule well in advance without any surprises down the road.  Here are my most common packages:

  • Weekly Website Blogs, 3 month package (12 blogs total), $3,000 ($250/blog)
  • 6 new website pages, 1 month turnaround, $2,400 ($400/page)
  • 4 White Papers/Case Studies Combo, $3,000 ($750/article)
  • Initial ESG Report, $5,000 (includes initial product line, internal infrastructure and supply chain research)

If you have a specific package you'd like to discuss, please Contact Me and we can work out all the details.

Retainer Services

Sometimes a client isn't sure what products they need in advance, but they want to make sure to reserve my availability for whatever comes up.  That's easily done with a retainer.  When I'm on retainer for clients, they get first dibs on my time.  I offer several different retainer levels:

  • 10 hours/week: $500
  • 20 hours/week: $1,000
  • 30 hours/week: $1,500

If this option appeals to you, Contact Me and we can discuss the details.

A la Carte Services

Sometimes a company just wants to buy work as they go.  It's slightly more expensive that way, but those costs are more manageable than larger packages.  Review the items below, then pick and choose which product(s) you're interested in.  Contact Me for availability and scheduling.
